Spring bulbs including snowdrops and great swathes of daffodills.

Early Summer

The Spring garden is a highlight of the early summer season.  It is a delightful sight with hundreds of tulips and daffodills growing amongst the grass all overhung with pink and white cherry blossom.

The 4 acre woodland garden is an exotic mass of rich colour and sweetly scented azaleas and rhododendrons.  It is its best in late May/early June.

Summer

The sunk garden is continually changing with a huge variety of plants including, alliums, roses,, penstemons, poppies, peonies as well as a good selection of annuals.

Autumn

The terrace borders and the sunk garden borders are full of late autumn colour with a profusion of dahlias and asters.

In 2008 the rose garden was re-planted as a dahlia garden which looks at its best in August and September.
